Our products give wood a second life. The primary ingredient in our material is wood flour, industrial waste from wood processing. We know alternative flours are becoming popular, but don't use this for baking! We source it locally, and any possible impurities are removed.
To ease the manufacturing process and enhance the mechanical properties of our products, we add a mixture of different minerals – all of which are renewable – to our materials. That means that the replenishment rate of these minerals exceeds the consumption rate. By the way, minerals also make great fertilizers.
As a binder, we use PHAs, fully biodegradable polymers produced via fermentation by bacteria. Thus, PHAs are not “plastic” but natural materials found in nature, such as cellulose or starch. Consequently, they are biodegradable and will decompose in a variety of environments including compost, soil, and freshwater and marine environments, without leaving behind any toxic substances or microplastics.

To manufacture our forks, we use processing technology from plastic industry adjusted to our material. The technology is easy to scale and produces limited water and material waste.
4. AMAZING EXPERIENCE
We pack and ship the fork directly to our customers. Finally, you can have the same experience eating out like you would have at home using silverware. No after taste. No splinters. No broken forks or knifes when cutting a piece of meat. No more plastic.
You can reuse the fork as many times as you want. Over time, washing machine or water may alter the fork color like it does with wood. Once you are finished with it, you can burn it with wood, put in home compost or throw it away with regular garbage where it will be eventually burned.
In the case that our fork ends up in nature, it will biodegrade to carbon dioxide (CO2), water (H2O) and methane. While the time of biodegradation will vary from few weeks to years depending on the environment, it will never leave any toxic residue or microplastics in nature.
