What are Refork products made from?
Our products are based on wood flour, renewable minerals, and nature binder — a natural polymer. You can find out more about our materials here.
How much water is required to manufacture Refork products?
We use a minimal amount of water to manufacture our products. All the water is closed systems and is reused.
Are Refork products food safe?
Refork is certified food safe. We hold the most comprehensive food migration certification available in the industry.
What is the temperature resistance of Refork products?
Refork products are suitable for hot food up to a maximum temperature of 100 °C.
What is the shelf life of Refork products?
In general, our products have a shelf life of up to one year.
How should I store Refork products?
We recommend storing Refork products in a dry place at temperatures of 10-30 °C and away from direct sunlight.
Are Refork products reusable?
Yes, you can reuse and hand wash Refork products.
Biodegradability
We’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions about Refork’s biodegradability, including whether our products are suitable for home composting, how long they take to biodegrade, and where to dispose of them.
Are Refork products biodegradable?
All our products are made from natural and fully biodegradable raw materials that break down in various environments from compost to soil, and fresh and marine water, without harming the environment. Refork products don’t leave any toxic or microplastic residues behind.
Can I put Refork products into my home compost?
All our raw materials are natural and readily home compostable. We’re currently conducting home compostability studies for our final products with TÜV AUSTRIA and the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague (VŠCHT).
How long does it take for Refork products to biodegrade?
The length of biodegradation will vary depending on the environment and thickness of the product. In general, it will take several months for our products to biodegrade in compost, soil, and freshwater and marine environments.
Where should I dispose of Refork products?
After reuse Refork products can be handwashed and reused. Otherwise, we recommend disposing of our products in a home compost system, if available. But if you don’t have one, you can put Refork products in your general waste bin. or bio
